This poem is in response to prompt #18, “losing control,” by Mindlovemisery.
Walking the forest path
Sunlight glittering
Rain spattered leaves
Clouds gracing a sky like silk
Suede logs bounding
Splat! On my butt
Mother nature is such a card

Walking the forest path
Sunlight glittering
Rain spattered leaves
Clouds gracing a sky like silk
Suede logs bounding
Splat! On my butt
Mother nature is such a card
Finally, the cool
Gives way to sweltering sun
August descending
I went down to the beach in sworls
Longing for sun-bound benediction,
The binding waves’ delight
I went down to the beach in fancy,
The souls of a billion stars
Shone in the sand-blown wind
I went down to the beach in breathless,
Red-green ancient charts
New sprung each forgotten day
I lost my footprints
Without a glance
