A pack of haiku to start things off:

Morning shades into noon
Light descends into darkness
Diamonds become glass

My dear dead father
Who did you think I would be?
Can we forgive us?
Spring screaming away
Summer nipping at its heels
Where is my haiku?
Slow moving river
Puts fish and men together
A diet of worms
A forest bird calls
From one end to another
Haiku-ku! Haiku!
Summer all but spent
A wind shifting in the night
Cicada’s last call
