Haiku 4

Haiku: a poem
Of seventeen syllables
Or so

Leaves beneath the snow

Still dream of sunlit mornings
Spring lies hidden there

The New Year shimmers

On the crest of the old year
Take it, it is yours

A thaw reveals leaves

And empty whiskey bottles
Long since discarded

Be careful, Winter

Spring runs screaming after you
You could get sunburned
